I Just Moved, Now What?

By Jeanine Naviaux

So, where do you start? What do you want the theme to be? Maybe beach theme bedrooms, nautical theme design, country themed? When you look at magazines what designs do you see that catch you eye? Do you look through Elle Decor, Home Magazine, Better Homes and Gardens or Metropolitan Home. These are some different styles.

After you've decided on the theme the next thing is to start with the furniture. That is the biggest and hardest to move and place. Move it to where you think but then get a second opinion from an San Diego interior designer or San Diego interior decorator like me and re-work the room and the colors you want. Think about the feel of the room. What colors do you like and especially do not like. That's important - what is important? Photos? Art, etc. People collect for a reason. Let's show off your collection! That is why you bought it in the first place! Also, have fun, this is your home, not your business. This is the place to relax and enjoy!

Moving can sometimes be very stressful, but when you decide to use an interior designer, it can be a smooth transaction. Using a good interior designer helps a lot, for example I have suggested people that I have worked with many years from a housekeeper, to a handyman, painter you name it I probably have them on my speed dial list.

If you are married and your couple likes different colors or tones than you, there are ways in which you can blend them together to create a seamless fit. That's why using an Interior Design Firm is a good way to work together and converting your dreams into reality.

Now that you learned some new tips, have fun working in your new home. Remember that using the help of an interior designer will make moving less stressful to you and your loved ones.

Cold Calling: Balancing lead quantity and quality

By Valerie Schlitt, President of VSA, Inc.

Sales people know there are two critical decisions that must be made before starting a cold calling campaign. How many leads do you need, and how qualified do you need them to be?

While these are two questions, they're really two parts to the same question.

Let's say you start up a telephone prospecting program and ask the caller to refer you to all interested prospects.

It's almost a guarantee that you'll get many more leads if you don't put constraints on how "qualified" these leads are. But, you're also more likely to get tire kickers and individuals who are not serious about purchasing.

On the other hand, when you stipulate that each lead must be fully qualified, your telephone prospecting program is likely to generate fewer opportunities. But, virtually all your leads will be "the right" kind of prospect. Ready to buy!

You see, there is often a trade-off between quantity and quality.

What is a "qualified lead?"

Simply put, a qualified lead is an individual with a near- term need for your product or service, who also has decision making authority and the required budget.

To a lesser degree a qualified lead is someone who may need your product or service in the future and is shopping now.

What kind of lead do you get when you don't apply stringent qualification "constraints?"

Of course, you still will get the qualified leads, but you'll get others, too. Some will turn into sales. Others will turn into future sales. Others may refer you business in the future. Others will amount to nothing. You may have to work harder at selling, because many may not even realize you can help them.

Should every company choose quality over quantity or vice versa?

Every company has its own sales strategy, and should establish a telephone prospecting campaign to fit this strategy.

You probably want to accept only highly qualified leads if: you want immediate revenue, your product or service is simple to describe on the phone, the decision making timeframe for your product or service is short, and/or your sales team cannot dedicate time to relationship building.

You probably want to accept less qualified prospects if: you are entering a new market or geographic area, you want to establish relationships that could result in future sales or referrals, your sales team has available time, the decision making timeframe for your product or service is lengthy and/or you have a product or service that is not quite so easy to describe in a 15 minute phone conversation, or requires technical knowledge a cold caller may not have.

Here are two Case Studies from VSA's prospecting experience:

Company A: Willing to meet anyone

One of our clients, in the commercial property improvement business, wanted us to forward anyone who expressed interest in a face to face meeting. This company felt prospects who wanted to talk about their product were worth the time investment.

This company was entering a new geographic area and needed to develop name recognition, and business relationships.

In the end based on our leads, our client sold several accounts, and developed relationships with many companies who may purchase in the future or refer business.

Company B: Wanted appointments with qualified prospects only

Another client, also in the commercial property improvement business, wanted a completely different strategy. This company wanted us to forward only very qualified leads.

This company was already established in its target geographic area, and employed a small sales team. The reputation was extremely positive. This sales team wanted to focus on leads that could convert to immediate sales.

In the end based on our leads, we helped this client generate sales and revenue, without wasting the sales team's time on leads with little likelihood of closing soon.

Types of Franchise Business Opportunities

By Franco Andretti

So you've done a bit of research and you realize that there are many different types of franchise opportunities out there to invest in. Some are attractive, some not so attractive. So if you're contemplating making an investment by affiliating yourself with a franchise, you need to do your homework and research each type of opportunity to protect against an unsuccessful business. You want to invest in a franchise that will do well, and while learning about each type isn't a sure-fire guarantee that you'll make millions in your first year, it certainly won't do any harm.

Although there aren't any hard and fast rules, you can generally categorize any franchise in one of two ways. These two main groups make up most all of the franchise opportunities available to you. The first is known as product and trade name franchising. The second is called business format franchising.

Big blue chip companies and industry names in the gas (petroleum), automobile, soft drinks and beverage sectors can usually be found under the product and trade name franchising umbrella. While the big company supplies the merchandise, logo and trademarks, and usually takes responsibility for some or most of the advertising, the franchisee doesn't pay royalties on sales. The franchisee sells the services or products provided by the manufacturer. In general, the franchiser will assist in the set-up and advise on the best locations for the business, and continue supplying goods and things such as vending machines (with all the servicing needed to keep them operating successfully) and whatever else is required to sell products.

The second method is business format franchising. An essential part of the business format franchising is the use of trademarks and logos. The franchiser will help with the site selection and the franchise company will determine the design and layout of the business.

It is interesting to note that studies have shown that the color on the walls in an eating area of a fast food restaurant will determine how quickly people will finish their meal. Hence, the quicker people eat the more people they can accommodate in a day. Therefore, franchisers are determined to stipulate to the franchisee something as basic as wall color. The franchiser also has a say in the advertising, training and the service/sales philosophy of the employees.

Convenience stores, automobile services, hair salons and so many others in this industry are just a few examples.

There may be a fee that the franchisee will have to pay up front and it is referred to as the start up costs. Additional payments are the royalties for the continual support of the franchiser.

Having a little more information about franchise business opportunities will better enable you to choose one that is just right for you. Always keep in mind that a name brand franchise will not automatically bring in the big bucks. There are some franchises that require you to have salesmanship qualities. So, although franchise businesses are considered a good career move be comfortable in your decision and choose wisely.

There Is A Way To Do Network Marketing Online With Integrity

By Tina Fields

It's time to recreate the Network Marketing image into one of honesty and integrity. The bad reputation was created because Network Marketers used to bug their friends and families to join or buy things they didn't want or need. Well not anymore.

The most successful Network Marketers online today know that you don't have to bug anyone to join your opportunity as long as you know how to market online and have the right opportunity. As you probably already know internet marketing is the path to success if your a Network Marketer. It is so easy to reach hundreds or thousands of people each day with your opportunity if you know how or are trained how by your Sponsor.

The best part is that you are reaching people who are searching for a home based business opportunity. They want to hear what you have to say. You don't have to be a pushy salesperson anymore. It's not like selling at all. You just need to give people the information that they need to make an educated decision.

So what are the things that will allow you to be in integrity in this industry.

#1 Join a company that is in alignment with your purpose in life. You can choose from so many opportunities out there such as, health, internet marketing or personal development and a whole lot more. I suggest that you join one that has a product that really speaks to your soul. Otherwise you will only be half in it and you can not make 6 or 7 figures if you don't have the passion. I made this mistake with the first opportunity that I joined and I failed miserably. Then I found an opportunity that was really true to who I am and found the success that you read about. As a Certified Coach it is important to me to help others and I am a personal development junkie so it's only natural that I would want that as part of my Network Marketing online opportunity.

#2 Investigate the company before you join. Speak with some members, attend a webinar or a live call and get a feel for the community. Are they too aggressive for you? Or do they have the approach of helping and serving others?

#3 How does the company give back to the world? Do they give to charities?

#4 Do they have a 100% money back guarantee? If they really believe in their product and business opportunity they should but you will find that not many do. This is important if you want real credibility with your leads.

#5 What is the company sales approach? How were you approached by the Sponsor that contacted you? Were they pushy or helpful? That is a sure sign of the company philosophy.

It is truly possible to have a successful business with Network Marketing online. You can truly reach the financial and personal success if you find an opportunity that has integrity and is in line with your values and who you are. Of course you will need a program that gives you tools and training but INTEGRITY is the key to success.

Are You Using This Internet Marketing Secret?

By John Neyman

If you are trying to sell a product or service on the Internet, then you are probably doing so through an affiliate program. You signed up as an affiliate (usually for free) and they gave you an affiliate ID (user name or number). They may have even given you a basic marketing package which includes text ads, banner ads, and solo ads with a link to your affiliate sales page. All you have to do is use these tools to get traffic to your affiliate sales page.

Well that sounds pretty easy, doesn't it? This process actually works too, except that your probability of converting your traffic into sales is very, very, very low. In other words, you may have to have thousands of people to visit your affiliate sales page before you ever see your first sell. Now those aren't very good odds, are they?

Unfortunately, that is what most people do. They spend a lot of time, effort, and money getting all of those people to that affiliate sales page and then they finally make a sale and earn a referral fee or commission. But wait, it can get even worse. Let's say that you made one sale and earned a $10 commission. That's great, right? Well not really, because in the terms and conditions of your affiliate program, you don't actually get paid until you have accumulated at least $20 of commissions. So get back to it and get another sale and finally get paid. Good grief!

Don't quit! Internet marketing is a great way to make extra money, but you have to know some of the secrets. Here's one. "Don't advertise your affiliate program directly." You must use a four step process.

Four Step Process

1. First, you must provide something of value. The easiest valuable thing that you can give away is information. An informative email course, special report, or ebook are all great ways to give away free information.

2. This step goes along with the initial step above. Don't give away your free information until you get an email address. You must capture the name and email address of your prospective sale in order to be able to implement the next step.

3. If the information that you are providing is good and helps people, then you will earn some trust. If someone gives you some information that saves you time, money, or effort; then you are going to closely read anything that they send you - as long as the information is still valuable. This is why it is so important that you get that name and email address before you start giving away your information. Now you can keep the information flowing through an occasional email to your prospect.

4. Finally, if you have been providing valuable information and earning trust from people, it is much more likely that they will buy something that you recommend. This is especially true if you can convince them that what you are recommending will help them and that it is worth their money. The easiest way to do this is to recommend something that you have actually purchased and use yourself. Just tell them how it helped you and why you think that it was worth what you paid for it!

Odour Control and Air Fresheners

By Cassandra Dass-Pearce

Considering all the products used in the cleaning industry, "clean-smelling" air fresheners seem to pose the least risk. However, the fresh scent of air fresheners may mask not only undesirable odours, but a serious health threat also. Individuals whose line of work puts them into frequent contact with these chemicals are at a greater risk of developing long term health problems simply by the nature of their occupation, for example janitorial and cleaning staff. Chemicals called phthalates (pronounced thal-ates) which can be present in air fresheners are known to cause hormonal abnormalities, birth defects, and reproductive problems.

The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC)an international non-profit environmental organization, conducted an independent testing on fourteen commonly used air fresheners. They found phthalates in 86 percent (12 of 14) of air freshener products tested, including those sold as "all-natural" or "unscented". It was noted that none of the products tested listed phthalates on their labels. The NRDC recommends that government regulators should follow up by doing more thorough tests on these products and enact basic measures to limit exposure to these chemicals, in the interest of public health. Meanwhile, it may be sensible to avoid exposure to air fresheners. Especially, avoid using air fresheners in places where pregnant women or children are known to frequent.

Unpleasant odours are generally undesirable in any closed environments. Odours are not the cause of toxicological concern, but odours may increase the reporting of symptoms (for example, nausea, headache, eye and throat irritation).

Sadly, the increased popularity of air fresheners has quickly surpassed awareness of the potential health concerns from exposure to the toxic chemicals they may contain. Nearly all phthalates are known to interfere with production of the male hormone, testosterone. They have also been associated with reproductive abnormalities. Various animal studies have linked prenatal exposure to certain phthalates with decreases in testosterone, malformations of the genitalia, and reduced sperm production. Human studies have also shown that phthalates have been connected with changes in hormone levels, poor semen quality, and changes in genital development. Five phthalates-which includes one found in air freshener products-are posted by the State of California as chemicals "known to cause birth defects or reproductive harm." Phthalate exposure in a building environment has also been associated with allergic symptoms and asthma. Because there are no labelling requirements, even so called "natural" products can contain toxic chemicals. It seems virtually impossible for the common person to know which products may pose a risk.

While the focus here is on the presence of phthalates in air fresheners, it is worthwhile mentioning that researchers have detected other chemicals of concern to human health in these products as well. The European Consumers' Organisation, BEUC (Bureau Europen des Consommateurs), commissioned a study in January 2005 to analyse the chemical substances present in indoor air following the use of air fresheners (including incense, natural products, scented candles, gels, aerosols, liquid and electric diffusers. The BEUC study found volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in these products at high levels and concluded that VOCs significantly contributed to indoor air pollution. In particular, the European study detected cancer-causing chemicals such as benzene and formaldehyde in some air fresheners. Benzene is known to cause leukemia in humans, and formaldehyde has been linked to cancers of the upper airways. The majority of products also contained allergens (such as limonene). People with allergies to these chemicals could have adverse reactions, including rashes or even asthma attacks, from exposure to air freshener products.

Air fresheners are rarely necessary simply because they cannot substitute for good ventilation. The best solution is to open windows to bring in fresh air or to use fans to maintain proper air circulation. Air fresheners also are not the solution to poor air quality; they mask bad odours, however they very almost never eliminate their cause.

I suggest that people avoid using air fresheners if possible. When necessary, use products with the lowest levels of phthalates to limit exposure to these toxic chemicals, or use products that are certified by organizations such as Green Seal (USA) and EcoLogo (Canada) as being an environmentally responsible product. EcoLogo It is the only North American standard approved by the Global EcoLabeling Network as meeting the international ISO 14024 Standards for environmental labels.

Please remember this. Until manufacturers are compelled to fully disclose all ingredients on product labels, each and every breath you inhale fumes released by air fresheners. The risk of developing a health problem far outweighs any perceived benefit of using these common household products.

Does this scenario sound familiar to you?

Having endlessly sought expert advice, read countless articles and listened to numerous stories about people who've built unimaginable wealth on the Internet using their vast opt-in lists, you finally decide it's time to have one of your own. Now under the illusion you know everything, you follow all the advice to the Tee. And you fail to make even a single penny.

In fact, you're losing money. Fast. Being rather lazy, you hired writers to help out with your articles, and when that didn't work your month's budget on a doomed Pay-Per-Click campaign. Perhaps your list even got quite big. But only a tiny percentage actually converts to sales.

Either way, you've failed to make any profit, and after a few months' daily scrutiny of your statistics and sales figures, you come to the conclusion that your dreams of Internet wealthbuilding lie in ruins.

You wonder what wrong. Why have others succeeded where you have failed? Perhaps you were too hasty, diving straight in like that. Maybe the product is rubbish, after all. Or maybe it's you - you're just not cut out for this...

Have similar thoughts ever crossed your mind?

Before you get any more disheartened, remember that just because you emailed people on your list does not mean they'll buy instantly. Or, put it another way, HAVE PATIENCE!

And, if you've already started an opt-in list and think you failed, I strongly urge you to follow the following advice, too. Same thing applies if you're just starting out. The advice comes in the form of three quick and easy steps:

1) Make sure your product or service is one that people really need.

And learn all about your product. Many people forget this vital element of their affiliate business. Do they really think their subscribers are going to buy something they haven't bothered to learn about themselves? Not very likely. Your knowledge and belief about your product, or lack of it, is transferred onto your customers. Time spent researching your product thoroughly is time spent wisely.

2) Join lots of forums. There your expert advice and recommendations will build you an aura of trust . You can build a base around other forum users, inviting them to join your opt-in list. They will become your friends, and friends make good customers. Remember to place a link to your site on your posts - it will enable them to see what your business is all about. If you mean what you say, they'll begin to believe in you and your products. You can increase your credibility further as well as building more potential subscribers and customers by writing and submitting articles and posting blogs .

3) Find a mentor. Make friends with other opt-in list users (forums are an invaluable tool here, too). If you can find someone who has already launched a successful opt-in list, they will be able to tell you what to do and what not to do, because they have gone through it themselves. There are many pitfalls and mistakes to avoid - these people will be able to point them out to you. Experience is the best teacher, and there is nothing like getting it first hand. Learn from the mistakes of others!

Building a profitable opt-in list takes great preparation and effort. It won't happen overnight! Opt-in lists have to be built from scratch and, once built, take some maintenance. Remember to keep it organized and manageable. But use it to Keep your subscribers happy and they'll be willing to buy from you time and time again. Building your list, is the way to build Internet wealth!

Traffic Generation Techniques

By Eddie Watkins

Getting traffic to your website using traffic generation techniques, is one of the most important aspects of your online business. If you don't receive visitors to your website, your online business will not survive.

Obtaining traffic is one of the main reasons for having a website. Let's compare your website to a shoe store. In your shoe store you sell tennis shoes, loafers, pumps, flip flops and golf shoes. If no one comes into your store to purchase your array of products, your business will soon go down the tubes. Whatever medium you choose to use, you must advertise your business. Just as with your website, you must have visitors in order to thrive.

Without website traffic you may as well give up, as a shopping mall store would close its doors, so what can you do to attract the traffic that your survival depends upon? The answer to that question could fill a book - and a very large book! Much depends on how you look at it, but there are basically four different ways of directing traffic to your website:

1. Search engines 2. Online advertising 3. Offline advertising 4. Word of mouth, or buzz advertising.

We don't have the time or space to go over all the techniques that you are probably use to hearing about. So let's have a look at a couple of ways that are not talked about much but are very productive traffic generation techniques.

Search Engines

This is not about SEO because you will have read all you can about that. It works if you know what you are doing, but generally not if you just follow instructions by rote. However there are ways to use search engines to get to your web pages.

One of these techniques are smart pages. Your visitors never see these pages, but the search engines can find these pages when they spider the web. The way they work is for you to create as many of these pages as you can using keywords on your website that people use to seek information. There is software out there that you can use to make this process easier.

The way that the smart pages work is when a person is searching for a certain keyword phrase, using any one of the many search engines. Your web page has usually already been indexed for that certain keyword. So wouldn't you think that the person would be directed to your indexed web page. That not so. They would be directed to the page that the software has been programmed to send them to. A person can set up as many of these smart pages as they deem neccesary, and the visitor that does the search will be sent to the page that the software is set to send them to.

You can used this as one of the many techniques, to get the search engines to direct traffic to a certain page where you have information regarding a certain topic.

Online Advertising

There are many online advertising techniques that people use, including using blogs to advertise their URL and article marketing for the same purpose. Web2 sites have been used, but they are not very productive, but there are other options. You can get free links from your own Facebook page: for every website or blog you possess, and what about Twitter? You can advertise your website on your twitter posts. You can also use PPC, but not Adwords that can be expensive. Searchfeed offers good pay-per-click ads for 1 cent. If you use searchfeed, you can get by spending $25 a day, which equates to 2500 visitors to your website every day - for $25!

Classified Advertising

A lot of people forget about the power of classifed advertising. Putting a small ad in your local newspaper has a lot of power. Sending postcards through the mail, advertsing your website has also been proven to be quite productive. Having flyers made up from your local print shop, and distributing them to certain areas around town is also a great way to use the power of offline advertising. These avenues are sometimes forgotten by people trying to get the word out, when promoting their products.

Buss Advertising

Whether you know it or not, people are out there looking for your products. Talk about your website to everyone, to your relatives, your friends and family. You have to place yourself in front of your potential customers. Send out flyers, mail postcards, place an ad in your local newspaper advertising your products. People are always looking for a product that is going to solve a certain problem that they have, or an easier way to do a certain thing, and this is your opportunity to feel that void. Get the word out.

One thing that is for sure, is that you will always need traffic to your website. You will have to find what works for you. If you have not tried some of the ways mentioned in this article, you might be missing something who knows.

The importance of traffic cannot be overemphasized, and traffic generation techniques are of extreme importance to the future of your online business. Why? Because without visitors you might as well have no website at all.

Try to choose a dot com since these are most common and you clients will be able to identify with a dot com easier. What would Yahoo be if their domain name was fungames.com Instead their domain name is yahoo.com

This next step is critical to your success and the sooner you do it the faster you will begin to make money. Create a website. You can follow the link at the end of this article to see an example of a website I created using Yahoo's free website builder software at web.com. The Benefits of the Top PPC Services

By Maxine Stirling

It's true that there are many different PPC (pay per click) services out there. So why is the landscape of PPC advertising dominated by just a couple of services? The answer is unsimple - volume.

The top PPC services are offered up by Google and Yahoo, with Google dominating the head-to-head match up in convincing fashion. Both of these top PPC services offer similar features and benefits, and you can run a very successful campaign with either. So which should you choose? If you're gunning for the biggest campaign possible, then you should probably choose Google. Simply put, no other search marketing service out there can match Google customer for customer. If you're looking for the most possible customers for your PPC management campaign, then Google is it.

Yahoo's search marketing service has many of its own merits, and can work very effectively for a campaign that doesn't require its owner to completely dominate their particular industry. Many people choose to use both Google and Yahoo, creating a campaign that incorporates both of these top PPC services. For someone with a larger budget, this can be a very effective way to maximize reach.

Just because Google and Yahoo are the biggest names in the game doesn't mean there aren't other relevant players. Several others exist, such as Ask.com and MSN. And, on a smaller scale, there are several other niche PPC providers. Sometimes, these services can actually be a better bet for a small campaign, because certain keywords can be less saturated than with the big services. This makes is possible to have a lower cost per click average, and thus makes it possible to increase the profitability of the campaign. Of course, the biggest drawback of these services is their scope. On a large scale, they can't compete with the numbers of the top PPC services.

To be honest, most of the PPC services out there offer similar features and benefits. Google and Yahoo, being the media giants that they are, have developed very smooth and refined backend systems, making it easier and more efficient to manage just about every aspect of your campaign you can think of. The biggest advantage, though, is simply volume. If you want to conduct a large-scale marketing or advertising campaign on the web, and you want to utilize PPC to do it, then your best bet is one of these top PPC services. If you are looking to conduct a small, targeted campaign, then perhaps the smaller services are worth taking a look at.

Search Engine Marketing - Campaign Six Things You Must Do

By Terry Stanfield

When you talk with a search engine marketing consultant, he or she will have certain recommendations about what you need to do to ensure your website shows up near the top of search engine results. Search engine marketing ensures that your website will have the ability to be near the top of search engine results. People who are searching for your particular topic will then be able to click through to your website, giving you prospective customers if you operate a business website.

Search engine marketing services will focus upon certain areas of your website: your incoming links, the kind of content you have, and your keywords. These are important because there are factors that search engines place great emphasis on when indexing your website. This article will explain those factors and a few others in a brief way.

Search engine optimization marketing is first started with a competitive analysis. This is used to see which companies are in the top ten results for a particular keyword and why those companies are there.

Another factor which will be examined is keyword research and what keywords are used and what kind of results happen with these. If you do not have the right keywords used, you will not have as strong of an audience visiting your website as you could have hoped for.

A search engine marketing consultant will then look at your page optimization. Your pages need to be optimized for the various keywords so that your pages will show up in search engine results for different keywords depending upon the content of a particular page.

Search engine marketing services companies will then examine your site usability. It is important to have your website show up in search engines but you must also make sure that it is easy for your audience to get around your website and find what they are looking for.

Off page optimization is important and includes such activities such as link building. Search engines place great emphasis on this because you have to show the value of your website to other website owners who see enough value to link to your website.

One other factor you will want to look into is paid search engine marketing. This would include Adwords and you may want to think about this because you can put your website in front of your audience immediately.

Thinking through a search engine marketing consultant's thought process, you can see why you need to implement these tips. Without using these tips, you are putting your site at jeopardy of not being able to found by your audience. It is important to put these steps into place before making your site live.

Why You Shoudn't Set Up Your LLC in Nevada or Delaware

By Bob Montgomery

I am often asked where's the best place to set up an LLC or corporation, my answer is usually in the state where you intend to conduct most of your business or where you have an office or business presence. In other words, your home state.

If you set up an LLC in a different state than the one you are conducting most of your business in, you will likely be required to file an application as a foreign LLC or foreign corporation (meaning from another state) in any other state where you conduct substantial business or have substantial business contacts.

As an example, if you form an LLC in Nevada but your business office is in Oregon and you do most of your business in Oregon, you will have to file and pay fees in Oregon as a foreign LLC doing business in Oregon, in addition to filing and paying fees in Nevada. This is an added expense you might not need.

Filing in more than one state is expensive and can result in substantially more record keeping which may outweigh any potential advantages. Some larger LLC's and corporations are registered as foreign entities in every state but this is expensive and time consuming for most small businesses.

In some cases, there may be a valid reason for setting up an LLC or corporation in a state different than where you conduct business. There may be some special tax advantages or liability advantages in one state which are helpful to your special type of business. This requires some advanced research into the tax and liability laws of the state you want to use. Give your accountant or tax advisor a call and discuss this with them.

Most people are aware that Delaware and Nevada are promoted as the best places to set up a new LLC or corporation. My experience is that this is not necessarily true. Delaware may be a good state for larger companies but the costs and red tape of foreign state filings likely outweigh the advantages for smaller businesses. The same is true of Nevada.

For example, Nevada boasts no state income tax on corporations or LLC's. However, LLC's don't pay income tax anyway. They are considered pass through entities which means the LLC itself is not subject to federal or state income tax. Rather, the owners or members pay income tax on their pro rata share of the income.

In some states the members of an LLC will have to pay state income tax on their share of income from an LLC. However, there are other states which do not have state income tax but they often make up for the revenue with some other form of tax or assessment.

Nevada also claims that it protects privacy because they do not share information with the IRS. However, if the IRS wants information or records from a business, all they have to do is issue a subpoena and they get the information. Believe me, I've seen it happen. In addition, if you form a corporation in Nevada but then have to file as a foreign corporation or LLC in another state because you do business there, your information will be shared with the IRS anyway.

There is nothing wrong about being aggressive in trying to reduce taxes and save money but I also believe in doing it honestly. If you are running a legitimate business and are properly filing tax returns, why should you be so intent on not having your information shared with the IRS anyway.

If your business provides its product or services everywhere or in many places, such as an internet business, then you have more choices. However, even with an internet business, if you do substantial business in any particular state, you may still be required to register in that state as a foreign corporation or LLC.

In the end, the best practice for most smaller businesses is to form an LLC or corporation in your home state or in the state where you have the most business contacts or where you do most of your business This will likely save you some money.

Advanced MIG Welding Technology Offered by Ohio Laser

By Graham Mc Patrick

MIG stands for "metal inert gas." The MIG welding process was first developed during World War Two to increase the productivity of manufacturing lines making weapons and equipment for the war effort.

In the case of the System10 MIG welding cell, an automated robotic welding arm moves a "gun" fixed on a contact tip into place to make welds. At the end of the contact tip a solid-steel wire is fed through a liner.

When the MIG welding cell is turned on, electricity charges the contact tip on the gun, melts the wire, producing a weld puddle. Inert gas simultaneously pours out of the tip of the gun, shielding the weld puddle from air in the atmosphere, permitting the weld to fix two metal pieces together.

The robotic MIG welding technology permits companies to make high speed production runs of top quality mid-sized welded industrial parts. For companies in need of low cost precision welding, this welding technology provides many benefits.

Cells such as the Lincoln Electric System10 at Ohio Laser have many feature:

Fanuc ARC Mate 100 iB/6s robot with a 37" reach for precision welding in smaller spaces

Dual fixed welding work station with automatic interlocked access doors permit you to simultaneously load and unload parts while welding

A metal surround flash barrier and bi-fold doors with interlocks

100% duty cycle, 450 amp STT welding technology power supply

Less distortion, smoke and splatter

Specialized tooling, engineering and programming capabilities are available to enable cost effective welding

Automated arc welding is one of many advanced industrial fabrication services offered by Ohio Laser. Ohio Laser is a leading laser cutter of flat sheets, tubes and pipes, is proficient with PPAP Level I to Level IV, provides high accuracy bending, engineers parts using 2D, 3D CAD/CAM software, and offers welding processes GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW.

Ohio Laser also provides machining services, heat treating and finishing, assembly and packaging, water jet cutting, sanding and grinding services.

Network Marketing Opportunity Review: Ambit Energy

By Cathy Yeatts

The Company

Ambit Energy is a network marketing company based in Texas that provides electricity and natural gas. The company was founded by its current CEO, Jere W. Thompson, Jr., and Chief Marketing Officer, Chris Chambless, in 1992.

Both men have enjoyed tremendous success in the telecommunications industry. Thompson was at the forefront of that industry as it deregulated. Chambless was an early member of the management team of Excel Communications. With this kind of leadership, Ambit seems a likely candidate for overwhelming success.

The Service

Ambit Energy distributes electricity and natural gas in Texas, Illinois and New York. Because energy travels through the same power lines whether an mlm company or a public utility provides it, customers experience no disruption in the way energy is delivered to their homes.

For nearly as long as electricity has been in use in American homes, public utilities have held a monopoly over the energy industry. In the last few years, however, there has been a trend toward states deregulating utilities.

It's been said before that competition is good for the customer. If you have felt taken advantage of before by complacent state-run monopolies, you're going to like retail energy. Providers like Ambit are obligated to strive for your business by offering better rates and more attentive service.

Ambit comes into the competition armed with discounted service, no contracts to sign, and customer incentives, like Travel Rewards Points given each month based amount of energy used. Ambit has joined the Better Business Bureau and has a Customer Satisfaction Guarantee.

The Opportunity

Ambit Energy's stand is that employees and consultants come first. When distributors are treated well by a company that is helping them to reach their personal goals, the customers are winners too.

Energy is a convenient product for network marketers. Everybody uses it, everybody understands the need for it, and everybody wants to save money on their bills!

With Ambit Energy as opposed to other home based businesses, there is no complicated paperwork, no inventory to store, and no deliveries to make. Also, consultants for Ambit do not have ongoing customer service to provide. Once they enroll a new customer, Ambit Energy takes it from there.

The timing is excellent. Consultants stand to benefit from the rush of consumers recently freed from the monopoly of public utilities and searching for a better deal.

Ambit Energy's Compensation Plan:

1. Earn up to $400 for customers you enroll in your first 12 weeks. You count as one, your website counts as two, and pending customers also count.

2. Earn $100 for every new Marketing Consultant you sponsor who enrolls four customers in their first four weeks. Advance in rank and you could earn as much as $190 for every new consultant in your organization.

3. Earn monthly commissions on every active customer in your organization through six levels.

4. Earn monthly bonuses on all of your team members' customers, ranging from $0.50 to $2.00 through unlimited levels of your organization.

Ambit Energy markets electricity and natural gas both through distributor websites and traditional, one-on-one network marketing.

I have read some press labeling Ambit Energy a pyramid scheme. (Actually, a lot of mlm's are accused of that.) Some mlm companies are considerably more profitable for long-timers than for beginners, whereas some offer very little room for upward expansion. Neither is an evil scheme. The bottom line is that would-be consultants need to know exactly what type of business they're getting involved in, and to commit themselves to sticking with it long enough to succeed.

There are great benefits for team builders that could translate into substantial income. But sometimes the bigger the incentives for team leaders, the harder it is for the new guy to succeed. That is because part of his profits are going to pay the Team Builder Bonuses he hopes to earn one day. That is also why determination is so important in this business.

Ambit is not just receiving bad press, though. Former energy marketer, Laura Licata, compares network marketers disinterested in the Ambit Energy opportunity to those who wish they took the advice or had the insight to invest in Google or Microsoft when they were not household words.

Oil & Gas Jobs, Am I Suited?

By Oil job Girl

How do you handle an aging workforce dilemma? That is the question facing the oil and gas industry at the moment. All of this came about because of the loss of confidence in the industry during the Eighties. It is a problem that is going to come home to roost within a few years unless they can carry out some heavy duty recruiting here and now.

Due to this lack of recruitment, the average age of the Oil worker is 50. it is a dilemma that not many human resource managers would want to have on their to-do list

Quite unexpectedly though, university entrants have been moving towards the geo-sciences and away from the computer science courses as that industry suffers from saturation. This is the answer to the prayers of the petrochem industry.

For the applicants without a degree that matches the demands of an oil industry job there is hope. They can find jobs that require no experience in the field, but in entry-level positions.

Those that join from a lower qualification level can be trained on the job and in the classroom, and are able to see a clear employment road in front of them.

The oil industry has open positions for them in areas such as production, refining or transportation, administration. Although to most people oil and gas jobs conjures up images of a guy in oilskins on a rig at sea or in an oil field, battling against the elements.

While the above is still the case, a larger range of jobs is available, such as physicists, engineers, procurement. So there is no need to get your hands dirty to earn oil money

People come from all walks of life, with many people moving into the industry as a career change. The only real way to find out if you are a fit for the oil industry is to submit your CV, and see what turns up. With such great earning potential, it could be the best move you have ever made.

Finding an Effective Promotional Product

By Bree C Robbins

Other than the use of conventional print advertisements and the use of the use of billboards, TV commercials, Promotional Product's serve the purpose to get a company's name into the public eye by assisting them in building a reputation. The trick to finding effective promotional products is to ask the question what makes a promotional product effective? The answer is the best is one that gets used. If items are getting used, anyone who sees the product is being exposed to your company as well as the recipient being constantly reminded of your company as well as receiving a gift.

Often the most effective promotional products are some of the cheapest. A perfect example of this is Pen's or Tote Bag's that can and are used almost daily by anyone and can usually be printed and supplied for well under $5 per item. The items are portable and get carried and seen by others. One of the great qualities of promotional products, is the recipient receives a gift from your company and then uses the product and get's your company's name out into the community.

If we look at a few different but very popular promotional products we can see some of the advantages and drawbacks to each one:

An example of this is Key Chains they are portable and are often used a lot however, a distinct disadvantage of using key chains is that people rarely tend to see them as they spend a majority of time in the recipients? Pockets, purses or wallets.

Refrigerator magnets - Will also likely be used by the recipients, but won't get much exposure to third parties. Good idea if you want your recipients to be constantly reminded of your company and to have your contact information readily available to them. Bad idea if you want to get your name out to third parties.

A really useful item that people use over and over again is a good Tote Bags they are extremely portable and get seen by lots of people, on the down side they tend not to be used daily however when they are used they generally get used in high viewing areas such as the supermarket, the beach, the gym or taken to seminars. With a good logo that suits the style of the Tote bag this makes for a really powerful and effective promotional item.

Pens is a option that combines the portability of a keychain, the usefulness of a refrigerator magnet, and the visibility of a Tote Bag. This is the best option for someone who wants to get all three benefits out of one very cost efficient promotional product. This is especially true if your recipients have customers of their own.

The return on investment on a good promotional product is huge an example of this is a pen with your company's logo generally cost less than a dollar or two, but the reach of that one pen can be worth thousands.
