Phishing is a common scam that is used in defrauding online bank accounts. Most banks are aware of this and are trying to prevent this type of fraud. Majorly, these scammers will send you a mail asking you to upgrade you bank account through a link from the mail that leads to a fake website, where your bank information would be stolen and used in defrauding your account. Nowadays, banks do not ask customers to upgrade their accounts through mails. If they do, you should call first to verify before doing so.
